JOIN US IN THE KAROO
Of all the wild and wonderful places Toerboer has visited, we decided to settle in Graaff-Reinet, in South Africa’s Great Karoo. Join me and my team in exploring the Gem of the Karoo and surroundings and share our complete immersion.
Town walk/cycle with coffee/lunch Take a walk or cycle through this historic town to discover what made it tick through the past 233 years. Enjoy a cup of the best or a glass of wine with lunch at our favourite restaurant. Umasizakhe Township tour also available (including the birthplace of Robert Sobukwe, The Royal Block, local bicycle manufacturer and a clothing company).
Champagne breakfast There is nothing quite like visiting the Cathedral of the Mountains (Valley of Desolation) in the Camdeboo National Park in the crisp early morning air and then enjoying a refreshing breakfast at one of the most breathtaking sights surrounding Graaff-Reinet.
Farm fresh lunch Join us for a casual Karoo lunch after visiting the Valley of Desolation and the Toposcope in the Camdeboo National Park.
Valley of Desolation with traditional braai and stargazing (and full moon) Experience the Karoo at its best. Visit the Valley of Desolation in the late afternoon, then drive a short distance to a designated sunset scene before being entertained with a traditional braai. Finish the perfect evening with stargazing sprinkled with a dash of Amarula.
Nieu-Bethesda Full day/half-day tour Travel back in time to this authentic Karoo town with its dusty charm. Home of the enigmatic Owl House, Kitching Fossil Exploration Centre, a multitude of shops, intimate eateries and views for days.
Richmond Full day tour (can be combined with Nieu-Bethesda half-day tour) Known as the book town of the Karoo. With a stunning private museum, various public art installations and an award-winning padstal (typical South African roadside restaurant/shop), a visit to Richmond is a fulfilling experience. The road there is in itself a feast for the senses.
Mountain biking/cycling – join us for a morning cycle into the Camdeboo National Park and surrounding farms (including a scrumptious breakfast in the bush).
Bicycle rental - Three mountain bikes for rent from the activity desk – to be rented for self-guided/guided cycling around town or on various tracks in the area.

UBUNTOURS
UBUNtour. Ubuntour is derived from the word UBUNTU. Ubuntu is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is often also translated as "humanity towards others", but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity"
